Auras
In New Age beliefs, auras refer to fields of color that
radiate around people or objects like a cocoon or halo.
The color of these auras are created by our soul's vibrations
or chakras. The thoughts or moods of a person can also affect
the color of our aura.
These auras are not to be confused with
visual auras that occur because of disorders like migraines, epilepsy, or brain
and visual disorders. In those cases, the auras are symptomatic of a physical
disorder. Spiritual auras, on the other hand, surround us all, though must be
analyzed by a person who is able to see them.
There is no scientific evidence to support the claims of
aura analysts. Different analysts "see" different
colors, and disagreements are common. Even when analysts
see the same colors, they often disagree on the interpretation
of those colors–red may mean passionate love to one
analyst, and rage to another.
For these reasons, and others, the study of
auras is generally classified as a pseudo-science, one with no basis in fact.
In scientific tests, aura analysts repeatedly failed to distinguish between a
mannequin and an actual person. James Randi has offered a $1 million reward to
anyone who proves the ability to reliably detect auras, but so far this prize
remains unclaimed.
Aura analysts believe that the color of
your aura can reveal important information about your nature. Some will offer
advice on balancing your aura, since imbalances are believed to cause physical
or psychological problems.
Here are some common colors of auras, along
with their meanings:
Red represents a range of powerful
emotions, from anger to passion, sensuality, strength, and even tenacity and
willpower. Darker reds may indicate an impulsive person with a quick temper.
Orange is the color of warmth, of maternal
feeling. People with orange auras are said to be emotional and creative. Golden
tones indicate self-control; muddier oranges are related to vanity and pride.
Green auras belong to natural healers,
those who have a special empathy for other people and animals. They radiate
love and calmness, though dark shades can indicate jealousy or uncertainty.
Blue auras surround quiet, spiritual
teachers and healers. Blue is a calming color, though may also suggest
moodiness. Those who have found their true calling in life are said to emanate
a deep blue aura.
Violet auras surround people who are searching for life's
purpose. Often, they are psychics, clairvoyants, healers,
and religious teachers. Those who face great obstacles in
life may show a deeper shade of violet. This may also be
a color of sexual frustration.
Pink indicates a person capable of great
love and deep friendship. These people are compassionate, and love beauty in
all forms. Darker shades may indicate an immature personality.
White is usually the first color seen in
any aura. If it is the predominant color, it indicates truth and purity.
So, does all this talk about auras make you wish you could
see your own? Well, now there's a way to find your aura
